Boy in Kaghan becomes victim of bear attack

An eighteen year old boy by the name of Muhammad Yousuf became the victim of a bear attack in Kaghan. The boy was coming back from the jungle of Kund Bangla with his herd of goats and sheep when he was attacked by a bear.
When people heard the boy crying for help and the bear growling , they rushed to the spot. However when they reached the spot they saw the boy being thrown into a ravine by the bear.

The boy died on the spot after being mauled and thrown into the ravine by the bear.

This is not the first time that an incident of this nature has occurred in this area. Leopard and wolf attacks are pretty common in this area.

A number of people have been injured in bear-attacks in Mansehra district. On November 8, 2015, three people were injured after being attacked by bears in separate incidents in Kaghan Valley. On October 20, 2015, a minor was wounded in a bear attack in a village in Jabar Devli union council of Mansehra.

The attacks, according to wildlife experts, were due to people encroaching upon habitat of the bears.
