The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) served a legal notice to MNA Ayesha Gulalai, to prove her harassment allegations against party chief Imran Khan or apologise. The notice also stated that If Gulalai failed to provide evidence for her accusations she would be liable to pay 3 million to Imran Khan.
Gulalai has been given 10 days to prove her accusations before the party files a defamation case against her.
The notice was issued on behalf of PTI Central Coordinator Javed Badar by Advocate Ahsan Javed.
Gulalai, an MNA from South Waziristan, had announced on Tuesday that she was leaving the Party and claimed that women affiliated with the party faced constant harassment from within the party ranks.
“It is my integrity that matters to me the most,” the MNA told reporters. “I cannot compromise when it comes to my honour and dignity.”
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi has demanded a probe into the PTI chief’s Blackberry data to confirm Gulalai’s harassment allegations against him.
“I salute Ayesha Gulalai for taking a stand and showing such courage to expose him [Imran Khan] and others in his party,” he told reporters.
