“Mourning: the loss of a Legend”

Vinod Khanna (6 October 1946 – 27 April 2017), Bollywood actor and producer, after suffering from severe dehydration for a couple of weeks, was admitted in Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Center in Girgaon, Mumbai on 2 April 2017. Rumors were circulating in the media that he had cancer or a cardiac arrest, with his picture showing his deteriorating health.
Vinod Khanna son of Mehr Chand Khanna, a prominent businessman and former minister from Congress Party, passed away on the morning of 27th April 2017 at the age of 70. It was disclosed that he had been battling with advanced bladder cancer.
Born in Peshawar on Oct 6, 1946 at Sardar area in the Cantonment’s jurisdiction. Mehr Chand Khanna migrated to India in 1947, when Vinod Khanna was an infant.
Vinod Khanna kept his love for the city he was born in. During a function in late 90`s held in Dubai, he had announced on stage with pride that he is a ‘Peshawari’.
Making his debut in 1968, Khanna at first did small second lead roles or negative roles.
He appeared in 140 movies, won 7 awards.
First award in 1975 Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for `Haath Ki Safai’ . In 2007, he was granted with `Zee Cine Award for Lifetime Achievement`.
He entered politics in 1997, joining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was an active politician.
Twitter mourned the loss of Vinod Khanna, celebrities tweeted their grief.

One of the most handsome lead actor, Vinod Khanna spent his last days with his wife, Kavita and kids Rahul and Akshay Khanna, who are actors as well.
