He recalled, &#8220;I remember, Gauri\u2019s whole family was sitting, and I arrived around 1:15. They were talking about the fact that this guy is Muslim. Would he make Gauri change her name? Would he convert her to Islam?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the same interview, Shah Rukh revealed that on his first day at his in-laws&#8217; house after marriage, he jokingly told Gauri to wear a burqa and change her name to Ayesha.<\/p>\n<p>According to Shah Rukh, &#8220;They were all speaking in Punjabi. I checked the time and jokingly said, &#8216;Okay, Gauri, wear your burqa, and let\u2019s go for prayers.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He shared that Gauri&#8217;s family looked at them in surprise, thinking that he had already converted to her religion.
