The fire in Los Angeles has left behind many heartbreaking stories. Among the victims was an Australian actor who tragically passed away at the age of 32. His mother has shared a “strong” message about these difficult moments, which were the times she was trying to save him.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former Australian star Rory Sykes became famous as a child in the 1990s on the British show “The Kiddy Keepers.” After the fire in “Celebrity City,” he tragically suffocated in his cabin. The actor, who lived with cerebral palsy, was announced dead by his mother, Shelley Sykes, on social media. She wrote, “It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my beautiful son, Rory Sykes, in the Malibu fire. My heart is completely broken.”<\/p>\n

Shelley also revealed that her son died in his cabin on the family\u2019s 17-acre property in Malibu when efforts to put out the fire on the roof of his cabin with a water pipe failed. This was due to the water supply being cut off. Shelley explained that she couldn\u2019t get Rory out of his burning home because of her health issues, which made it difficult for her to walk. Additionally, her arm was also broken. After failing to reach 911, she went to the local fire station but by the time she returned with help, it was too late, and Rory had passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning.<\/p>\n

The mother recalled the last moments with her son, tearfully saying that he told her, “Mom, leave me.” She questioned, “Can a mother leave her child?” In the heartbreaking statement, she continued, “He had undergone numerous surgeries to regain his sight and walking ability and had overcome the pain to continue with treatment. Despite everything, he was still excited to travel the world with me, from Africa to Antarctica.”<\/p>\n

Shelley shared that Rory had founded Happy Charity to help those in need. He was an inspiring speaker at just eight years old. It is worth mentioning that the fire in Los Angeles broke out last Tuesday, spreading across 21,000 acres between Palisades and Malibu.
