Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed on Friday that armed militants attacked the homes of government officials and a bank in Surab district, resulting in the martyrdom of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Hidayatullah Baloch, while several government residences were set on fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shahid Rind, in a statement, termed the incident a \u201cmalicious attempt to challenge the writ of the state\u201d and blamed \u201cIndian proxies\u201d for orchestrating the attack.<\/p>\n

According to the spokesperson, the attackers looted a bank in Surab Bazaar and torched the residences of government officers.<\/p>\n

He stated that ADC Revenue Hidayatullah Baloch showed remarkable bravery during the attack, especially as women and children were present at his home at the time.<\/p>\n

A clearance and search operation is underway in the area, and Shahid Rind said that \u201cevery attempt by anti-state elements will be thwarted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Frontier Corps (FC), police, and Levies forces quickly reached the scene and cordoned off the area.<\/p>\n

No group has claimed responsibility so far, but Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has held the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) responsible for the assault.<\/p>\n

In a post on X, he stated:
\u201cDespite being in the position of ADC Revenue, when BLA terrorists\u2014agents of Fitna-e-Hind\u2014opened fire on women and children in Surab Bazaar today, Hidayatullah Baloch upheld Baloch traditions and courage, sacrificing his life to defend the state of Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>\n

A statement from the Prime Minister\u2019s Office said PM Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the cowardly attack on the bank, civilians, and administrative officials by terrorists seeking to destabilize Surab.<\/p>\n

The statement added that the Prime Minister directed authorities to identify those responsible and ensure they receive appropriate punishment.<\/p>\n

He further remarked, \u201cThe Pakistan Armed Forces are relentlessly working to dismantle Indian-backed proxies spreading terrorism in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The attack on government properties in Surab coincided with Field Marshal Asim Munir\u2019s visit to the Command and Staff College in Quetta today.<\/p>\n

According to an ISPR statement, during his address to students, officers, and faculty, Field Marshal Asim Munir vowed to foil all conspiracies aimed at sabotaging Pakistan\u2019s counterterrorism efforts.<\/p>\n

Earlier, on May 21, militants targeted an Army Public School (APS) bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, killing six people, including four children.<\/p>\n

In March, 26 passengers were killed when the banned BLA attacked the Jaffar Express train near Sibi.<\/p>\n

Five security personnel were martyred during retaliatory operations.<\/p>\n
