Lahore: A decision from the federal government regarding a possible ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) is expected soon.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, while holding a press conference, said that the Punjab government is taking every possible step to establish law and order in the province and no group will be allowed to challenge the state writ.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Talking to the media at the DGPR office, Uzma Bukhari made it clear that no one will be allowed to disturb the peace of Punjab. She said that in recent incidents, religious party workers have tortured police personnel, damaged civilian property, burned vehicles, and resisted state institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that the state cannot allow any armed group to take the law into its own hands. Strict measures are being taken to maintain law and order, and a massive crackdown has also been carried out in the province regarding arms licenses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uzma Bukhari said that currently more than 1 million people in Punjab have weapons. The government has canceled the licenses of 28 dealers whose documents were incomplete, while the licenses of 90 other dealers are being examined. In addition, shops that did not have legal permits have been sealed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Information Minister said that the provincial government wants all weapons licenses to be re-registered at service centers to prevent the spread of illegal weapons.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that the federal government is going to decide on the future of an extremist religious party, and if necessary, a formal notification will also be issued regarding the ban on TLP.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uzma Bukhari said that our religion teaches peace, brotherhood, and good behavior. Rebellion against the state in the name of any religion or movement cannot be accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n
