Former Supreme Court judge Justice (retd) Mansoor Ali Shah has joined Lahore University of Management Sciences, where he will serve as a professor in the university\u2019s law department.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the university administration, Justice (retd) Mansoor Ali Shah will be responsible for delivering lectures on law, constitutional matters, and judicial practices, allowing students and faculty to benefit from his extensive legal and judicial experience.<\/p>\n

The administration stated that his appointment is expected to strengthen academic standards within the law faculty and provide students with deeper insight into constitutional law and the justice system.<\/p>\n

It is worth recalling that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah resigned from the Supreme Court on November 13 last year. He submitted a 13-page resignation to the President of Pakistan, stating that he had served the institution with integrity, honesty, and respect for judicial independence.<\/p>\n

In his resignation, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah described the 27th Constitutional Amendment as a serious assault on the Constitution of Pakistan, arguing that it weakened the unity of the Supreme Court and undermined judicial independence by placing the judiciary under government influence. He maintained that the amendment damaged the spirit of constitutional democracy and distanced justice from ordinary citizens.<\/p>\n

He further stated that such constitutional distortion was unacceptable and expressed hope that it would eventually be reversed with the passage of time.<\/p>\n
