Pakistan\u2019s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, has stated that the region stands at a dangerous turning point following recent attacks on Iran, with far-reaching consequences expected.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Addressing a high-level meeting of the UN Security Council, he emphasized that Pakistan values its deep historical ties with the Arab world and highlighted the need for collective efforts to ensure regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n

Iftikhar stressed that cooperation between the United Nations and the League of Arab States should be strengthened, as partnerships with regional organizations have become essential amid global political uncertainty.<\/p>\n

He noted that while the UN Security Council holds primary responsibility for international peace and security, regional organizations play a crucial role in conflict prevention, mediation, and stability.<\/p>\n

The Pakistani envoy reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s support for the Arab League\u2019s efforts to promote peaceful conflict resolution and dialogue, urging diplomatic engagement to reduce tensions.<\/p>\n

He further stated that the Palestinian people continue to face illegal occupation, displacement, and denial of fundamental rights, and called on Israel to end its illegal occupation in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and other Arab territories.<\/p>\n

Iftikhar also highlighted challenges arising from restricted navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that an immediate ceasefire and resumption of dialogue should be the top priority.<\/p>\n
