{"id":22082,"date":"2026-06-02T13:51:39","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T08:51:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22082"},"modified":"2026-06-02T13:51:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T08:51:39","slug":"icc-approves-use-of-pink-ball-in-test-matches-to-reduce-time-lost-due-to-bad-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22082","title":{"rendered":"ICC Approves Use of Pink Ball in Test Matches to Reduce Time Lost Due to Bad Light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a significant trial measure aimed at reducing time lost in Test cricket because of poor light conditions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the new decision, teams may agree before the start of a Test match to use a pink ball instead of the traditional red ball in venues where bad light is likely to disrupt play.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal was approved during the ICC Board meeting held in Ahmedabad.<\/p>\n<p>Pink balls have previously been used only in day-night Test matches, but the new initiative is designed to allow play to continue under floodlights and reduce the number of overs lost due to poor visibility.<\/p>\n<p>The ICC also approved several other changes to cricket regulations. Under the revised rules, head coaches or designated support staff will be allowed to enter the field during drinks breaks in One Day Internationals and T20 Internationals to communicate with players.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the innings break in T20 International matches has been standardized at 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The governing body has also permanently adopted the guidelines used for judging leg-side wide deliveries.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, umpires will now be granted access to Hawk-Eye data when assessing suspected illegal bowling actions, improving accuracy and transparency in decision-making.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a significant trial measure aimed at reducing time lost in Test cricket because of poor light conditions.
