{"id":22316,"date":"2026-06-17T13:12:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T08:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22316"},"modified":"2026-06-17T15:19:46","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T10:19:46","slug":"sindh-chief-minister-to-present-2026-27-provincial-budget-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22316","title":{"rendered":"Sindh Chief Minister to Present 2026-27 Provincial Budget Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah is set to present the provincial budget for fiscal year 2026-27 in the Sindh Assembly today.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The budget session will begin at 2:00 PM, while the Sindh Cabinet is expected to approve the budget proposals before the assembly meeting.<\/p>\n<p>According to budget estimates, the total provincial budget is expected to exceed Rs3.5 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Non-development expenditures are proposed to increase significantly from Rs2.142 trillion last year to Rs2.56 trillion in the upcoming fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the overall development budget may be reduced from Rs1.018 trillion to Rs720 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The provincial development allocation is expected to be cut from Rs520 billion to Rs385 billion, while Rs400 billion may be allocated for 3,642 ongoing development schemes.<\/p>\n<p>Sources indicate that no new development projects are likely to be included in the upcoming budget.<\/p>\n<p>District development spending is also expected to be reduced substantially, from Rs55 billion in the current fiscal year to Rs15 billion in the new budget.<\/p>\n<p>The province is expected to receive Rs64 billion in development grants from the federal government and around Rs256 billion from international financial institutions for development projects.<\/p>\n<p>Economic analysts believe the proposed reduction in development spending and increase in non-development expenditures could have significant implications for Sindh\u2019s fiscal priorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah is set to present the provincial budget for fiscal year 2026-27 in the Sindh Assembly today.
