{"id":22571,"date":"2026-07-03T12:31:28","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T07:31:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22571"},"modified":"2026-07-03T12:31:28","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T07:31:28","slug":"no-country-can-turn-pakistan-into-a-barren-land-foreign-office-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22571","title":{"rendered":"No Country Can Turn Pakistan Into a Barren Land, Foreign Office Says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Pakistan&#8217;s Foreign Office has said that no country has the capability to turn Pakistan into a barren land, stressing that the country is strong enough to counter any such threat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the weekly media briefing, the Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan reserves the right to respond to any action concerning its water resources and is closely monitoring developments on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson said Pakistan has a clear national position on water-related issues and added that China&#8217;s involvement in major water matters could play a positive role.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan supports meaningful and result-oriented diplomatic engagement to address peace and security challenges in South Asia, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Office maintained that Pakistan&#8217;s position on disputes with India is consistent with international law and the United Nations Charter. Islamabad would welcome any country seeking to contribute to peace and stability between Pakistan and India.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson said Pakistan has nothing to hide and remains open to positive international engagement, while accusing India of avoiding international mediation and diplomatic engagement.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Foreign Office, India&#8217;s positions on Jammu and Kashmir, transboundary water resources and counterterrorism remain weak under international law.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan would also welcome positive peace efforts by the United States or any other international actor, the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on recent contacts in Bangkok and Colombo, the spokesperson said meetings organised by private think tanks were not unprecedented but declined to provide further details.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding a reported letter written by prominent Pakistani and Indian figures to the prime ministers of both countries, the Foreign Office said the government neither confirms the letter nor wishes to comment on it.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson also said Pakistan carried out targeted operations against terrorist hideouts in border areas following the terrorist attack in Karachi, stressing that the country will not compromise on the safety and security of its citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pakistan&#8217;s Foreign Office has said that no country has the capability to turn Pakistan into a barren land, stressing that the country is strong enough to counter any such threat.
