{"id":22664,"date":"2026-07-07T15:34:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T10:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22664"},"modified":"2026-07-07T15:34:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T10:34:14","slug":"major-tax-evasion-by-oil-companies-uncovered-during-iran-us-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=22664","title":{"rendered":"Major Tax Evasion by Oil Companies Uncovered During Iran-US War"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A large-scale tax evasion case involving oil marketing companies has been uncovered during the Iran-US war, according to a briefing given to the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Customs officials told the committee that an audit of the matter has been ordered, while the Federal Board of Revenue has decided to investigate two oil marketing companies for selling petroleum products without paying duties.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate standing committee meeting was chaired by Senator Rana Mahmood ul Hassan at the Establishment Division&#8217;s committee room.<\/p>\n<p>The committee approved the Civil Servants Amendment Bill 2026 and proposed referring the matter of officers serving on deputation to the federal cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>Briefing the committee on the alleged tax evasion by oil companies, customs officials said levy rates witnessed major fluctuations during the war.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said information had emerged about delayed payments by some companies and claimed that most oil companies were involved in the matter.<\/p>\n<p>According to customs officials, oil companies sold petroleum products through dealers and paid duties at a later stage.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said money that should have been deposited into the national treasury at the beginning was paid at the end.<\/p>\n<p>Customs authorities said removing goods without paying duties is a violation of the law.
