{"id":23094,"date":"2026-07-28T15:40:42","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T10:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23094"},"modified":"2026-07-28T15:40:42","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T10:40:42","slug":"general-syed-amir-raza-assumes-command-of-national-strategic-command-meets-field-marshal-asim-munir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23094","title":{"rendered":"General Syed Amir Raza Assumes Command of National Strategic Command, Meets Field Marshal Asim Munir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>General Syed Amir Raza has officially assumed command of the National Strategic Command and was presented with a guard of honour on taking charge of his new appointment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Amir Raza laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs&#8217; Memorial and offered prayers for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Following the change of command, General Amir Raza met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ), the ISPR said.<\/p>\n<p>The military&#8217;s media wing stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir congratulated General Amir Raza on assuming his new responsibilities and conveyed his best wishes.<\/p>\n<p>Two days earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had approved the promotion of then Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Syed Amir Raza to the rank of four-star general and appointed him Commander of the National Strategic Command.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister&#8217;s Office formally announced the promotion and appointment through an official statement.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioned into the Pakistan Army in 1988, General Syed Amir Raza is a graduate of the Command and Staff College Quetta and the National Defence University Islamabad. He also holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Nottingham.<\/p>\n<p>He was appointed Chief of General Staff at GHQ in January 2025 and has previously served as Commander of IV Corps and Chairman of Heavy Industries Taxila.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>General Syed Amir Raza has officially assumed command of the National Strategic Command and was presented with a guard of honour on taking charge of his new appointment.
