Appearing in an Afghan military uniform, he also stated that the organisation would fight al-Qaeda, Islamic State, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other militant groups.<\/p>\n<p>The former general argued that nearly five years after the Taliban&#8217;s return to power, efforts to reach a political settlement through negotiations had failed.<\/p>\n<p>He also called on Afghans living both inside and outside the country to unite and support the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The Taliban government has not yet issued an official response, and the claims made by the group have not been independently verified.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Afghanistan United Front, an anti-Taliban resistance group, has announced the start of armed operations against Afghanistan&#8217;s Taliban government.
