As a result, consumers are paying an additional Rs130.23 per litre in taxes, levies and other charges.<\/p>\n<p>The figures show that several components contribute to the final price of petrol.<\/p>\n<p>These include a petroleum levy of Rs80 per litre, a climate support levy of Rs5, customs duty amounting to Rs21.24, an inland freight equalisation margin of Rs7.48, an oil marketing companies&#8217; margin of Rs7.87 and a dealers&#8217; margin of Rs8.64 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the base price of high speed diesel has been calculated at Rs264.76 per litre, while the official retail price has been set at Rs380.86 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>According to the documents, consumers are paying more than Rs116 per litre in the form of levies, taxes and various margins on high-speed diesel.<\/p>\n<p>The petroleum levy imposed on diesel stands at Rs74.28 per litre, while the climate support levy has been fixed at Rs5 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, customs duty of Rs15.68, an inland freight equalisation margin of Rs4.63, an oil marketing companies&#8217; margin of Rs7.87 and a dealers&#8217; margin of Rs8.64 have also been included in the final price.<\/p>\n<p>The documents indicate that taxes, levies and additional charges continue to make up a substantial portion of fuel prices, increasing the financial burden on consumers and the transportation sector.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad: Pakistani consumers continue to bear the burden of rising taxes and levies on petrol and high speed diesel, with official documents showing that motorists are paying significantly more than the actual cost of fuel.
