Following the reduction, the new diesel price has been fixed at Rs363.06 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs2.97 per litre, taking its new price to Rs337.51 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources within the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the levy imposed on diesel has been increased by Rs1.72 per litre. Following this increase, the petroleum levy on diesel now stands at Rs80 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>The sources said the levy on petrol would remain unchanged at Rs80 per litre. Similarly, the levy on kerosene oil would remain unchanged at Rs20.36 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik said during a press conference in Islamabad that the government was fully aware of the difficulties and hardships being faced by the public.<\/p>\n<p>He said the government was trying to provide immediate relief wherever possible, adding that the decision to provide a subsidy on petroleum products was also part of these public relief efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Ali Pervaiz Malik said the government\u2019s ongoing efforts would eventually bring the difficult period to an end. He added that the government would continue making every possible effort to protect the public.<\/p>\n<p>The petroleum minister said the escalation of the war had resulted in higher petroleum product prices, while several countries were also facing difficulties regarding the availability of diesel.<\/p>\n<p>He further stated that the government had decided to reduce the diesel price by more than Rs30 to Rs32 per litre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Petroleum Division has issued a notification announcing revised petrol and diesel prices for August 20.
