{"id":23412,"date":"2026-08-21T15:18:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T10:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23412"},"modified":"2026-08-21T15:18:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T10:18:15","slug":"imran-khan-examined-at-pims-returned-to-adiala-jail-after-doctors-declare-him-medically-fit-atta-tarar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23412","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan examined at PIMS, returned to Adiala Jail after doctors declare him medically fit: Atta Tarar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has confirmed that PTI founder Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a medical examination, where a team of doctors declared him medically fit before he was transferred back to Adiala Jail.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a statement posted on social media platform X, Tarar said Imran Khan was taken to hospital under security arrangements during the night between August 20 and 21.<\/p>\n<p>According to the information minister, Imran Khan was examined by qualified doctors, including an ophthalmologist, a cardiologist and a physician.<\/p>\n<p>Tarar said the PTI founder was taken to PIMS instead of Shifa Hospital due to the security situation allegedly created by PTI workers along the route to Shifa and outside the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>He added that doctors from Shifa Hospital were also present at PIMS during Imran Khan&#8217;s medical examination.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tarar, doctors declared Imran Khan medically fit following the examination, while his sister Dr Uzma Khan remained present throughout the medical assessment and treatment process.<\/p>\n<p>The information minister said Imran Khan was transferred back to Adiala Jail at around 5am on August 21 after the medical examination was completed.<\/p>\n<p>Tarar said Imran Khan had been provided medical facilities in the past and would continue to receive appropriate medical care whenever required.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court had ordered on Wednesday that Imran Khan be transferred to Shifa Hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has confirmed that PTI founder Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a medical examination, where a team of doctors declared him medically fit before he was transferred back to Adiala Jail.
