Tehran: Iran and Oman are set to hold talks today on the Strait of Hormuz and maritime routes, as Iranian officials warned that oil shipments through the strategic waterway could be halted if what Tehran describes as an economic war against the country continues.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed US claims concerning oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, describing them as part of a psychological warfare campaign.<\/p>\n

Baghaei said Washington’s claims regarding oil shipments through the strategic waterway were aimed at increasing pressure on Iran.<\/p>\n

Iran has also warned Bulgaria against providing refuelling facilities to US aircraft, saying such assistance could expose the country to Iranian attacks.<\/p>\n

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei warned that if the economic war against Iran continued, Tehran would not allow \u201ca single drop of oil\u201d to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n

Rezaei also said repeated US sanctions against Iran would not produce the desired results.<\/p>\n

He maintained that similar measures had been taken against Iran in the past but had failed to achieve their objectives.<\/p>\n

The talks between Iran and Oman are expected to focus on the Strait of Hormuz and issues concerning maritime passage through the region.<\/p>\n
