{"id":23661,"date":"2026-09-09T13:54:54","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T08:54:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23661"},"modified":"2026-09-09T13:54:54","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T08:54:54","slug":"makkah-joint-defence-pact-to-become-operational-after-attacks-on-saudi-arabia-from-yemen-khawaja-asif","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23661","title":{"rendered":"Makkah joint defence pact to become operational after attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen: Khawaja Asif"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said the Makkah joint defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye will become operational following attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen, adding that Pakistan is obligated to provide assistance under the pact.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Asif said there should be no doubt that Pakistan was bound to extend assistance under the joint defence agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The defence minister said the attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen would effectively activate the defence arrangement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n<p>Under the trilateral Makkah agreement, aggression against any one of the three member countries would be considered aggression against all three, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The remarks come after Yemen&#8217;s Houthi Ansar Allah group carried out attacks on the Saudi cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Najran and Jazan, targeting civilian and economic facilities.<\/p>\n<p>According to Saudi authorities, 73 people were injured in the attacks, including women and children.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, saying such actions not only endanger innocent lives but also threaten regional peace and security.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister reiterated Pakistan&#8217;s continued support for Saudi Arabia&#8217;s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n<p>Shehbaz Sharif also expressed solidarity with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said the Makkah joint defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye will become operational following attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen, adding that Pakistan is obligated to provide assistance under the pact.
