{"id":23685,"date":"2026-09-09T16:44:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T11:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23685"},"modified":"2026-09-09T16:44:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T11:44:57","slug":"pakistan-goods-transporters-raise-freight-rates-by-5-after-fresh-fuel-price-hike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23685","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan goods transporters raise freight rates by 5% after fresh fuel price hike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Karachi: The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a 5% increase in freight rates across the country following the latest hike in petroleum product prices.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan condemned the increase in fuel prices, saying transporters across Pakistan rejected the government&#8217;s decision.<\/p>\n<p>According to Awan, diesel prices have risen by a total of Rs19 per litre over the past 17 days, while petrol has become Rs20 per litre more expensive during the same period.<\/p>\n<p>He said the decision to change petroleum prices on a daily basis was unacceptable, adding that repeated fuel price increases had significantly raised operating costs for transporters.<\/p>\n<p>Awan said the alliance had postponed its nationwide strike for 40 days following assurances from the federal and provincial governments.<\/p>\n<p>He added that some of the transporters&#8217; demands had been accepted and were being implemented, but most remained unresolved.<\/p>\n<p>The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance subsequently announced a 5% increase in freight rates in response to the higher fuel prices.<\/p>\n<p>The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs5.58 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs364.35 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>High-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs4.18 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs385.95 per litre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Karachi: The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a 5% increase in freight rates across the country following the latest hike in petroleum product prices.
