{"id":23710,"date":"2026-09-10T17:34:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T12:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23710"},"modified":"2026-09-10T17:34:19","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T12:34:19","slug":"electricity-prices-rise-again-consumers-face-rs12-67bn-additional-burden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakalerts.net\/english\/?p=23710","title":{"rendered":"Electricity prices rise again, consumers face Rs12.67bn additional burden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity prices for the second time in a week, raising the tariff by Rs0.52 per unit under a quarterly adjustment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following approval from the federal government, NEPRA issued a notification for the latest increase in electricity prices.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notification, electricity has been made Rs0.52 per unit more expensive under the second quarterly adjustment of the current year.<\/p>\n<p>The increase will place an additional burden of Rs12.67 billion on electricity consumers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>NEPRA said the additional amount will be collected through electricity bills for September, October and November.<\/p>\n<p>Consumers will be charged an additional Rs0.52 per unit each month for three months, with the increase applying nationwide, including to K-Electric customers.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second increase in electricity prices within a week.<\/p>\n<p>On September 4, NEPRA had announced an increase of Rs2.06 per unit under the monthly adjustment mechanism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity prices for the second time in a week, raising the tariff by Rs0.52 per unit under a quarterly adjustment.
