Karachi: During a span of one week, two individuals lost their lives due to the Naegleria virus in the city of Quaid. This is a dangerous virus that enters the brain through the nasal passage and starts affecting the brain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to the spokesperson of the Sindh Health Department, 2 deaths were confirmed due to the\u00a0 Naegleria virus in Karachi, a woman from Qayyumabad area of \u200b\u200bkarachi and a 45-year-old man from Sarjani died.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson stated that the woman was a resident of Qayyumabad and had visited a private hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal to attend to her mother. During her time at the hospital, she performed ablution (wudu) and later experienced deteriorating health in the evening.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson mentioned that the woman was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where the confirmation of Naegleria was made.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson also informed that the first fatality from Naegleria occurred on May 26 and was a 45-year-old resident of Surjani Town.<\/p>\n

Naegleria is an amoeba that, if it enters the body through the nasal passage, can directly attack the brain, leading to the person’s death. It usually thrives in warm water, especially in swimming pools, ponds, and low-chlorinated tanks. The intense heat also contributes to the proliferation of Naegleria.<\/p>\n

Medical experts consider “Naegleria” as a silent killer because it has already claimed the eternal sleep of thousands of people worldwide.<\/p>\n

This is a dangerous virus that enters the brain through the nasal passage and starts affecting the brain.
