Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has challenged the initiation of individual criminal proceedings in the Cipher case by the trial court, in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Chairman PTI through lawyer Hamid Khan filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the trial court’s conviction in the cipher case.<\/p>\n

It has been argued in the petition that the petitioner is being subjected to political revenge by the opponents and the scope of political revenge has been extended to the petitioner’s political party and allies.<\/p>\n

The application further states that it is essential to inform the court about the targeting of applicants in Islamabad. Approximately 200 cases have been filed against the applicant, and state machinery is being used under the objectionable purpose of creating fake cases. The application criticizes the lack of freedom and justice in the case of the applicant in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).<\/p>\n

The plea in the application contends that the entire trial against the applicant is illegal and beyond jurisdiction. Therefore, the court is requested to declare the individual criminal proceedings ordered on October 23 as unconstitutional and against the law. Additionally, the order of Islamabad High Court dated October 26 should also be declared null and void.<\/p>\n
