The Petroleum Dealers Association has declared a strike in protest against the deregulation of petroleum product prices. The decision will curb oil smuggling, Petroleum Dealers Association<\/p>\n

<\/strong>During a news conference at Karachi Press Club, Chairman Petroleum Dealers Association Abdul Sami Khan said that if the government deregulates, they will close petrol pumps across the country and go on strike.<\/p>\n

Abdul Sami Khan said that due to deregulation, oil will be sold at a higher price of 20 rupees in remote areas of the country. Oil smuggling is already a big problem.<\/p>\n

He said that 75% of the oil industry is controlled by three major oil marketing companies, deregulation will establish the monopoly of major companies on oil prices.
