ISLAMABAD: Tight security arrangements have been made in the federal capital due to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.
Arrangements for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Islamabad on October 15 and 16 have been completed. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting. The prime ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan will attend the meeting.
Prime Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are also participating in the meeting. While Iranian Vice President and Indian Foreign Minister are also participating in the meeting. The Prime Minister of Mongolia will also attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting.
The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan will attend the meeting as a special guest. The Chinese Prime Minister is on a 4-day visit to Pakistan.
On the other hand, there will also be negotiations at the level of delegations. The promotion of cooperation in various sectors including economy, trade, and CPEC will also be discussed. He will meet with the Chinese Prime Minister, the President, the parliamentary leaders, and the military leadership.
Regarding the SCO Conference, Pakistan Army troops were deployed in Islamabad city. While the metro bus service will remain closed today from October 14 to October 17.
Islamabad Police also issued a traffic plan due to the SCO conference. According to this the road from Malpur to Dhokri Chowk, Kashmir Chowk, and Serena Hotel will remain closed.
Murree Road will also remain closed from Rawal Dam Chowk to Kashmir Chowk, Serena Hotel. The route from Malpur to Aapara through the Srinagar highway will be closed. Alternative routes have been provided for those coming to Rawalpindi from Murree and Bhara Kahu.
Those coming from Murree and Bhara Kahu to Rawalpindi will be able to reach Faizabad via Coring Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, and Rawal Dam Chowk. Use Ninth Avenue coming from Rawalpindi to Islamabad. While the expressway will remain closed from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point and Coral Chowk.
Today, from October 14 to October 16, all types of heavy traffic will be closed in Islamabad.
