As Hajj 2024 is about to commence, some news from Saudi Arabia has been capturing the attention of social media users. Recently, a tragic news story about a young pilgrim has left everyone saddened.
According to Arab media reports, a young Egyptian boy, Yahya Muhammad, who came to Makkah for Hajj, has passed away, becoming the first child of the season to die during the pilgrimage.
Yahya Muhammad was from the Kafr Al-Sheikh province in Egypt and had come for Hajj with his mother. In the past few days, pictures of Yahya dressed in Ihram and smiling in his mother’s arms had gone viral on Arab social media.
Reports indicate that the young child could not withstand the extreme heat in Makkah and succumbed to the temperature. Following the funeral prayers, the young boy was buried in a local cemetery in Makkah.
