Lahore: Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stated that anyone who dares to challenge the police will face consequences. He has ordered the establishment of a committee to investigate allegations against the police. Nobody has the right to level allegations against the police unless they do not have faith in the Inspector General or District Police Officer, in which case, the security of the police should be restored.
The caretaker CM stated that when Canal Road was opened, the workers were subjected to violence. He has directed the police to do whatever is necessary, but to uphold the government’s directive. Two days ago, Canal View was cleared and I had said to open this area.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed that our efforts are to not cause any harm to the environment and to prevent any loss of life. A decision has been made to form a JIT (Joint Investigation Team) to investigate incidents that occurred during the past 5 to 7 days.
