Former Speaker of the National Assembly and leader of the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Asad Qaiser, has refuted the allegations of his involvement in the events of May 9th made by Pervaiz Khattak, the Chairman of PTI.
Speaking to the media at the Peshawar High Court, Asad Qaiser stated that there is no truth in Pervaiz Khattak’s statements, and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are with the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He further mentioned that the rule of law is currently in question, and if there is no respect for the rule of law and the judiciary, the country cannot function properly. Decisions are being made by rulers in Dubai and London.
Asad Qaiser emphasized that the government celebrated the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement but the deal with the IMF should be presented before the public.
The PTI leader stated that inflation and unemployment are increasing, and the people are struggling to afford two square meals a day.
He added that in the elections, the PTI will compete against all parties, and equal opportunities should be given to all parties. It is our constitutional right to participate in elections, and no one can stop us.
It is evident that in a recent statement, Pervaiz Khattak had mentioned that the May 9th incident was the result of consultation with a few individuals, and he has always taught the party chairman positive politics and positive thinking, but their thinking and agenda were different.
Pervaiz Khattak stated that attacks on military installations and Radio Pakistan were carried out as per a specific agenda, and the senior leadership did not trust party leaders. Their consultation was with a few individuals.
