A hearing was held on Noreen Niazi’s request to provide better facilities to the founder of PTI in jail. DIG Prisons and Deputy Superintendent Adiala Jail appeared in court.
The Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail told the court that the PTI founder has been provided with all the facilities under the jail rules, the meetings have also started, and lawyers and family members met yesterday.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir asked who had come from the jails. DIG Jails Abdul Rauf said that I am the DIG Jails, and meetings with the founder of PTI have also started.
The Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail said that the lawyers and the family had met yesterday and provided all the facilities.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir said that where the lawyer Shoaib Shaheen is, he will tell whether the facilities have been provided or not. The hearing was adjourned until Shoaib Shaheen came to the court.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued a directive that the founder of PTI should be provided with the newspaper. After the break, the hearing started, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir said that Shoaib Shaheen, the jail authorities said that the meetings had been restored.
Shoaib Shaheen said that the court should call for an affidavit that the meetings will continue and will not be banned, to which Justice Arbab Tahir said that according to the jail authorities, the meetings were banned due to security reasons.
Shoaib Shaheen said that Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq had ordered that there is a threat in the jail, so the founder should bring PTI to the High Court. Newspaper is not being supplied to PTI yet.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir asked if there is a facility of newspaper in the prison Maneol. Deputy Superintendent Adiala Jail replied that the newspaper comes in the Jail.
Justice Arbab Tahir further said that all the facilities available in the jail rules should be provided to PTI founders and should not create unnecessary trouble for themselves.
The court ordered to provide all the facilities as per the jail manual including newspaper.
Adiala Jail officials supported Ali Amin Gandapur’s meeting with Imran Khan
Adiala Jail authorities supported the meeting of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur with founder PTI Imran Khan, however, the Deputy Superintendent of the Jail informed the Islamabad High Court about the meeting with the former prime minister.
In the Islamabad High Court, a hearing was held at the request of Ali Amin Gandapur regarding his meeting with Imran Khan, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the case.
Deputy Superintendent Adiala Jail appeared in the court and informed the court that there is no restriction on the meeting of Ali Amin Gandapur, on which Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked that no such request should come here in the future.
The Deputy Superintendent of Jail said that they have appointed a coordinator, on which Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir said that the coordinator, Intizar Hussain Panjotha, has been kidnapped. Akram Raja is also there, the coordinator decides first, the list comes and we make a meeting, the jail meeting is also happening now.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir inquired as to why prisons ban meetings, to which Deputy Superintendent Adiala Jail replied that the Home Department imposes bans due to security concerns.
The court disposed of the request of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur not to ban his meeting with Imran Khan.
Apart from this, a hearing was also held in the Islamabad High Court on the request to provide better facilities to Imran Khan in the jail, DIG Jails and Deputy Superintendent Adiala Jail appeared in the court.
