The agreement to hold all elections simultaneously in the Senate has been approved. Senator Shahzad Waseem said that as per the order of the Supreme Court, the elections will be held on May 14.
Under the chairmanship of Sadiq Sanjrani, a meeting of the Senate is underway, in which an agreement to hold all provincial and national assembly elections simultaneously in the country has been presented, which was proposed by Senator Tahir Bizenjo and was approved by a majority vote.
The agreement states that the national and provincial assembly elections should be held on the same day, political stability is essential for economic stability, and it is necessary to hold all elections simultaneously. Speaking in the house, Senator Waseem Shehzad said that the current government has drowned the parliament. They will not let them run away from the election by taking the shortcut. They violate the constitution every day.
Senator Shehzad Waseem further said that according to the orders of the Supreme Court, elections will be held on May 14th.
It should be noted that previously, an agreement was approved in the National Assembly to reject the Supreme Court’s decision. The agreement stated that the court’s decision should not be implemented. The assembly considers holding general elections simultaneously as a solution to problems.
The agreement approved in the National Assembly demanded that the Supreme Court reconsider the decision regarding the interpretation of Article 63-A of the Constitution.
