Islamabad: An appeal has been filed against the sentence of PTI Chairman in the Toshakhana case, arguing that the decision of the trial court is unlawful and should be declared null and void.
According to details, an appeal has been filed in the Islamabad High Court against the sentence of PTI Chairman in the Toshakhana case.
The appeals were filed by the legal team of the PTI Chairman, including Barrister Khawaja Haris and Barrister Gohar, in which it was argued that the decision of the trial court in the Toshakhana case is against the law and should be declared null and void.
The request also pleaded for the suspension of the sentence until a decision on the appeal is made, ordering the release of the PTI Chairman.
It should be noted that after being sentenced to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case last week, the PTI Chairman was arrested and subsequently transferred to Adiala Jail.
It should be noted that in the Tosha Khana criminal case, Islamabad Sessions Court Judge Humayun Dilawar declared PTI Chairman guilty of dishonesty, And sentenced him to three years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs.1 lakh, while disqualifying him for five years.
