The government has completed preparations to appease the IMF and has initiated measures to increase the prices of petroleum products. Public is worried about this decision of the government.
Sources say that it has been decided to collect an additional 15 billion rupees per month from the increase in prices. 75 billion rupees will be received in five months.
According to the sources of petroleum division, a levy tax of Rs. 50 is being collected on petrol from November 2022. 35 rupees are being charged on high speed diesel. Now, levy tax of 15 rupees will be levied on high speed diesel to make up to 50 rupees.
In the upcoming days, there is a possibility of a 15-20 rupee increase in diesel prices and an additional 30 rupees 45 paise levy tax on diesel is expected to be imposed. Furthermore, an additional 19 rupees 55 paise levy tax may also be imposed. Also, there will be an additional 1 rupee increase in the price of petrol in the next five months.
