The Bureau of Statistics has released a report indicating a significant drop in the average prices of edible oil and banaspati ghee in May 2024.
According to the report, the average price of one liter of mustard oil in the country was recorded at 495.43 rupees in May 2024, which is 0.88% lower compared to April. Additionally, the average price of a 5-liter container of Dalda cooking oil was recorded at 2652.29 rupees in May, showing a 0.69% decrease from April. Furthermore, the consumption of urea and DAP fertilizers in the first five months of the current calendar year has increased on an annual basis.
From January to May, the country’s consumption of urea was recorded at 2,555,000 tons, which is 3% higher compared to the same period last year.
On the other hand, the price of flour in the country saw a 29.26% decrease during May.
