Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench has ordered the immediate release of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and has directed not to arrest him in any other case.
Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench conducted the hearing. Gohar Bano and lawyer Taimur Malik appeared on behalf of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while Assistant Advocate General appeared on behalf of the government.
The government lawyer requested a deadline for presenting evidence, to which the court instructed to provide the evidence after one hour.
The court stated that if there is evidence against Shah Mahmood Qureshi, it should be presented before the court.
The hearing resumed on the request against the scrutiny of the former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The court has ordered to end the scrutiny of Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
The court remarked that whatever happened in the past, let it go, but such things should not happen in the future.
Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz commented that not everything is a joke.
The court ordered the immediate release of Shah Mahmood Qureshi and directed not to arrest him in any other case.
The court also ordered that no sworn statement should be taken from Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
