Pakistan and IMF Deadlock Continues Over Loan Program Revival. According to the sources, the new schedule of the IMF Executive Board till June 14 has been released.
According to sources, the executive board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released a new schedule until June 14, but Pakistan’s case is not included in the schedule due to the absence of a staff-level agreement.
It is reported that a deadlock persists between Pakistan and the IMF over the revival of the loan program, as the $6.5 billion loan program is set to expire on June 30.
Sources say there is a difference of opinion between Pakistan and the IMF regarding the objectives of the new budget.
The government remains hopeful for a staff-level agreement by June 30, with a proposed annual tax target of PKR 9.2 trillion, while the IMF is pushing for a tax target of up to PKR 9.8 trillion.
