The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recently revealed a significant shortage of vaccines for 5 deadly diseases in various districts.
According to the Health Department, vaccines for mumps, jaundice, convulsions, and pertussis have run out in 16 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Government hospitals in Tank, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Bitgram, Kohat, Hangu, Chitral, Malakand, Charsadda and Nowshera have run out of stock.
The vaccine is also not available in Torghar, Kohistan Bajaur and Mohmand. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department says that 42 percent of government hospitals in South Waziristan do not have the vaccine.
Vaccine is not available in North Waziristan 37, Bannu 25, Kolai Pals 14 percent hospitals, vaccine is not available in government hospitals for three months, health department has issued instructions to all districts for availability of vaccine.
