The Meteorological Department has forecasted intense heat in most of the country’s plains and rain with thunderstorms in various cities. Meanwhile, Karachi is experiencing extreme heat due to a heatwave expected to last until June 1.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with chances of thunderstorms and rain at a few places in eastern Punjab.
Islamabad and its surroundings are expected to remain hot and dry, while Murree, Galliyat, and nearby areas may experience thunderstorms and rain. Thunderstorms and rain are also predicted in Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, and Narowal.
Rain is also forecasted in Kohistan, Swat, Chitral, Abbottabad, Haripur, and Mansehra. Most districts in Sindh will remain extremely hot, while strong winds are expected in some parts of Balochistan.
In Lahore, the intensity of the heat persists, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 46 degrees Celsius today. The minimum recorded temperature was 28 degrees Celsius, and the humidity level will be 31 percent.
The Meteorological Department has predicted dust storms, thunderstorms, and rain in various cities, including Lahore, until June 1.
On the other hand, Karachi, the country’s largest city, is in the grip of extreme heat due to a heatwave expected to last until June 1.
According to the Meteorological Department, Karachi is expected to remain extremely hot and dry over the next 24 hours, with the maximum temperature reaching up to 43 degrees Celsius.
In the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 29.5 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing from the southwest at 8 kilometers per hour.
According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity in the air in karachi has been recorded at 79%.
