The initial proposal of a 15 to 20 percent increase in salaries has been revealed in the federal budget. According to treasury sources, a proposal to increase salaries from 40,000 to 60,000 rupees has been made in the monetization policy for bureaucrats.
For officers up to Grade 20, the monetization is proposed to be increased from 65,000 to 105,000 rupees.
For Grade 21 officers, the monetization policy is proposed to be increased from 75,000 to 120,000 rupees.
According to sources, the proposal for Grade 22 officers is under consideration, to increase their monetization from 95,000 to 155,000 rupees.
Approximately 80 billion rupees will be impacted by a 10 percent increase in salaries for employees from Grade 1 to 22.
Sources have revealed that there is a demand for a 200 percent increase in medical and conveyance allowances for employees from Grade 1 to 16, with Grade 1 to 16 scale employees receiving 18,000 rupees conveyance allowance and 1,500 rupees medical allowance.
According to treasury sources, officers of Grade 17 and 18 are currently receiving a 5,000 rupees conveyance allowance, and an initial proposal for a 200 percent increase in conveyance allowance for Grade 17 to 18 has been made.
It is said that employees from Grade 1 to 16 received a disparity allowance of 25 and 15 percent in 2021 and 2022, respectively, and there is also a proposal to continue issuing disparity allowances to reduce the disparity in salaries between provincial and federal employees.
According to the sources, the proposals to increase the salaries and allowances are in the initial stages, the final decision will be taken by the Prime Minister in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet.
