The Interior Ministry has decided to hand over the security of the Islamabad Red Zone to the Rangers.
An important meeting was held in the Interior Ministry under the chairmanship of the Interior Secretary, in which the issue of the protest of Tehreek-e-Insaaf was also discussed.
IG Islamabad, DIG, SSP, Sector Commander Ranger, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, District Administration Officers, and Police SPs of all zones participated in the meeting.
According to the sources, in the meeting, it was decided to hand over the security of the Red Zone to the Rangers, the security of the guests who came to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting was also reviewed in the meeting.
A briefing was given by Tehreek-e-Insaaf regarding the protest and road closure, it was decided in the meeting that the protestors would not be allowed to reach D Chowk under any circumstances.
In the meeting chaired by the Home Secretary, it was decided that the police force would be called from Kashmir along with other provinces to stop the protestors.
