Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has departed for France to participate in the International Climate Conference. In the summit, Shahbaz Sharif will present Pakistan’s stance and recommendations on climate change.
According to details, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has embarked on a three-day visit to France, where he will participate in the global summit on climate change in Paris.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is attending the summit upon the invitation of the French President, where he will present Pakistan’s stance and recommendations in the summit.
France is hosting the Global Financing Summit on Climate Change, scheduled to take place on June 22 and 23.
During the Global Summit, the Prime Minister will also meet with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, as well as other world leaders.
It should be noted that prior to his departure, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had stated in his tweet regarding the visit to France that he would present Pakistan’s stance on the need for international financial institutions to address the challenges during the visit.
Shahbaz Sharif stated that environmental change, natural disasters, and the increasing level of debt pose serious threats, and it is imperative to thoroughly discuss and work towards making the global financial system sustainable and equitable. He added that the New Global Financing Pact Summit in France represents a unique opportunity for the world.
