President of the country, Arif Alvi, has approved the appointment of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa as the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The President will take the oath of office from Justice Qazi Faiz Isa as the Chief Justice of Pakistan on September 17, 2023.
The appointment of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa will take effect from September 17, 2023, following the retirement of Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
The appointment of the Chief Justice was made by President Arif Alvi under Article 175A of the Constitution.
President Arif Alvi will administer the oath of office to Justice Qazi Faiz Isa as the Chief Justice of Pakistan on September 17, 2023. It should be noted that Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial will retire on September 16, 2023, in accordance with Article 179 of the Constitution.
President of the country had given approval for Justice Qazi Faiz Isa to become the Chief Justice two months ago.
The Ministry of Law has issued a regular notification appointing Justice Qazi Faiz Isa as the Chief Justice of Pakistan. According to the notification, his appointment will take effect from September 17, 2023.
