Rawalpindi Police have arrested former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan along with his sons and nephews from Islamabad.
Rawalpindi Police spokesperson, Inspector Sajjad Al-Hassan, confirmed that Ghulam Sarwar Khan was apprehended in a joint operation by Rawalpindi and Islamabad Police.
According to the police, Ghulam Sarwar Khan’s son Mansoor Hayat Khan and nephew Amaar Sadiq Khan (former member of the National Assembly) were also arrested.
The arrest of Ghulam Sarwar Khan took place during a raid on the residence of his friend, where all three PTI leaders had gathered for a meeting in Islamabad.
The police stated that all three individuals, including Ghulam Sarwar Khan, were wanted in connection with the incidents that took place on May 9 in Taxila. Several raids were conducted in Nowshehra, Punjab, for the arrest of Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
It is worth mentioning that last month, on May 9, former Prime Minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, was arrested by Rangers on the orders of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
