Lahore: Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, the head of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), has demanded that the general elections be held on time, as per the constitution.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had a meeting with Chaudhry Sarwar, the Chief Organizer of (Q) League. The party’s General Secretary, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed the analysis of the National Assembly and prominent seat setups, as well as reviewed suggestions regarding impartial seat distributions.
Shujaat Hussain emphasized that the elections should take place on the scheduled time according to the election constitution, expressing hope that an agreed-upon candidate name for the Prime Minister would be decided through consultations with coalition partners.
The Chief Organizer, Chaudhry Sarwar, while expressing his thoughts, stressed that impartial seat allocations are essential for transparent elections, and the country’s situation demands that the constitutional process be followed.
The General Secretary of (Q) League in Punjab, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, stated that the prominent seat should not be disputed at all.
Last year in May, an important meeting took place between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Shujaat Hussain, in which they had reached an agreement on the wisdom of elections.
Sources had revealed that both (N) League and (Q) League will contest the upcoming elections together, and Chaudhry Shujaat and Chaudhry Shafay Hussain from (N) League will coordinate with the Gujarat leader, Aabid Raza, to finalize matters and decide joint candidates according to constituencies.
During this meeting, Chaudhry Shujaat referred to the events of May 9 and stated that the criminals should be punished while innocent people should be released.
