Yesterday marked the commencement of the new academic year across Punjab, yet unfortunately, free textbooks couldn’t be distributed to 48,000 schools in the province.
Usually, free textbooks are delivered to school storerooms before the announcement of school results, but so far, no new textbooks have reached any school during the ongoing academic year.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood stated that the distribution phase of 30% of the books has been completed by March 31st, the second phase will be completed by April 20th, and the third phase by May 20th.
He mentioned that a total of 20 million books are to be published, out of which 7.5 million have already been published, and 4.5 million books have been delivered to the districts.
