ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan did not appear in the session court of Islamabad despite an arrest warrant in the Toshakhana case.
At the beginning of today’s hearing, Imran Khan’s junior lawyer, Sardar Bharji Khan appeared in front of the court, Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal inquired that Imran Khan is not appearing today? Sureties are bound that Imran Khan appear in court.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha and election commission lawyer Saad Hassan also appeared in the court.
It may be recalled that in the Tosha Khana criminal proceedings case, the Sessions Court of Islamabad rejected the application for cancellation of the non-bailable warrant of Imran Khan.
Imran Khan’s lawyers filed a petition in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal. The court reserved its decision after hearing the arguments.
According to the petitioner Imran Khan’s life is in danger and there has been an assassination attempt, Islamabad High Court appearance for Imran Khan on February 29 was among the top priorities and higher courts are given first priority.
