The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast an increase in temperatures in Karachi from Monday, with the mercury likely to climb as high as 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the Met Office, Karachi is currently experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while southwesterly winds are blowing at speeds of 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.
The department said temperatures were expected to rise from Monday as hotter conditions develop across the city.
It said higher atmospheric pressure could affect the speed of sea breezes in Karachi, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 36°C and 38°C from Monday.
Partly cloudy conditions are likely to persist over the next two to three days, while temperatures are expected to return to levels typical for October in the following days.
The Met Office also said a new western weather system would begin affecting the upper and northern parts of the country from October 12, with rain possible in various parts of Balochistan under its influence.
