Intense heat continues in Karachi, with temperatures expected to reach 38°C today.
According to the Meteorological Department, Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 39.1°C on Tuesday. The weather is expected to remain hot and humid today, with temperatures likely to rise to 38°C.
The department said Karachi recorded 40.7°C on September 21, making it the hottest day of the month since September 2017.
The monsoon season ended earlier than usual this year. While the monsoon normally continues in Pakistan until September 30, its early conclusion has resulted in October-like heat in Karachi.
The Meteorological Department added that October may also remain warmer than normal due to the effects of El Niño.
