The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has confirmed that a fault in an international submarine cable has been resolved and internet services across Pakistan are now operating without disruption.
Users in several Pakistani cities reported slow internet speeds on Thursday, facing connectivity and service quality issues.
Internet outage monitoring platform DownDetector also recorded reports of disrupted internet services from multiple cities across the country.
In an earlier statement, the PTA said a fault in the SEA-ME-WE 5 (SMW5) international submarine cable system had affected internet traffic and could cause intermittent degradation in service quality and connectivity for some users.
The telecom regulator has now confirmed that the fault in the SMW5 submarine cable has been fixed and internet services are continuing without interruption.
