The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has strongly denied recent reports claiming that Salman Ali Agha would replace Mohammad Rizwan as the captain of the national ODI team, and Saud Shakeel would be appointed as Test captain in place of Shan Masood.
In an official statement, the PCB clarified that the matter has never been discussed in any selection committee meeting, nor has there been any change in the category of players’ central contracts. The board emphasized that all such news circulating in this regard is baseless and holds no credibility.
It is noteworthy that rumors had been spreading on social media suggesting that Rizwan would be removed from ODI captaincy in favor of Salman Ali Agha, while Shan Masood would be replaced by Saud Shakeel as Test captain. However, the PCB has dismissed all such claims as mere speculation.
